At INSPIRED, we design architectural products for a wide range of environments. If there’s one undeniable positive to be gleaned from the past few years is in the modern office you are no longer tied to a desk for 8 hours a day, modern technology has set us free. The pandemic showed we can now work virtually anywhere.
There is still an open debate occurring regarding open plan vs. enclosed office environments but organizations are now realizing they need to invest in customized workplace solutions that address four main types of work:
- concentration
- collaboration
- socialization
- education
In an ideal world we can have the comfort of our front rooms, the privacy of our own office and the luxurious fabrics & textiles of a boutique hotel to feel relaxed and focused on the tasks ahead.

We need a clear boundary that separates work & home. The work environment does not always provide a comfortable space. Balance in the office is the ability to adjust the space appropriately to the type of task but adorned in luxury textures & beautiful fabrics.
Sustainability
Sustainability is the current buzzword in the furniture industry as well as being mentioned across all of our lives. But sustainability comes in many forms, from the ethos behind the design, the materials chosen, the manufacturing processes used, they all play a part. The decisions we make now will shape the future.
As a small company we can never influence the whole furniture industry but if we can show how to do it properly then maybe we can influence a change in thought. Products are more than their component parts, over-engineering is the biggest issue in furniture design.
Too many manufacturers make their products far too complicated by over-engineering which, in turn, makes them use too many materials & resources. That makes them too expensive price-wise & planet-wise. See how we do it differently.
